Sloshing in the puddles

9/30/2010

What a practice!!  Well, part of practice!
This month ended with the beginning of a great workout on the track, we finished the month with lightning and thunder...as we head into October, we're taking that spark with us!

Ragnar Relay - Bull Run - Pizza Hut

9/26/2010

What a weekend!   I am so thankful for the help of the team during the beginning of the Ragnar Relay.   We were amazed by the runners, and amused by their creativity.

Lexie had the chance to learn where my elves live that bake for the team.       Before leaving the next morning for Hereford, we FINALLY had the team meeting I had intended the night before.  To quote a conversation overheard at the meet, "watch Clear Spring attack those hills."   Great job gang.   The future looks bright for CSXC as we had a freshman boy and sophomore girl finish in the top 100!

Carrying on the team tradition, we made our regular stop at Pizza Hut, where we had a great time and a few made a run to McDonald's for coffee :)     Thanks for a great day team.   I love laughing with you.  And...yes, I knew the girl in the bathroom that I went and sat with for a while.  I didn't make random friends at the sink and then jump at the chance to meet her parents.

I can't wait to see next weeks times from Boonsboro!!

Moving onward

9/21/2010

Tough week and a half for our team.  Battling lots of "stuff".  Let's continue to focus on the important stuff.   We will support one another, cling to what is important, and focus on putting forth our best.  Thanks team for always bringing a smile to my face.

Brunswick Invite

A great day to run!   Lots of goals met...and some even met 2nd goals.  The girls stepped up as they were missing one while she nurses an injury.  J Myers had a top performance.  The boys team had another win by J Hill, as D Wertz shook up the Varsity roster yet again.

I loved laughing with the team on the way home!!!  How does M Shelton sleep like that??

Interstate Classic

9/4/2010

To sum up this first meet in three letters....WOW!
What a super day, started off by the girls team having TWO girls place in the top fifteen.  It's been years since Clear Spring has kicked off a season with such success.   Way to go Pettner and Shelton!
For the first time since 1997, a Blazer athlete won the individual title.  In his first season,  J. Hill won the Boys Small race with a time of 16:55.   Congrats Hill!!

Other performances to note....
K Smith - beating her goal by 3:46!!!!
M. Breakall -- a debut performance of 20:12. - a freshman with a bright future
J Myers -- beat her goal time by 12 seconds
B Yelott - beating his goal by 3:17
K Harris - ONE mile finished
C Yost, C Herndon, B Mehaffie, D Wertz, C Ammons, C Clever -- finishing their FIRST XC race!!

Next week -- Brunswick -- See What Happens Next!
