D Hop, C Sea, R Fai, and C Yos

So, we saw a mix of craziness this meet.    I am so grateful for this team.  I've watched you just care for each other so much, and do so many things to support and love on one another.  There were a variety of awesome moments at Counties, and I don't get to experience many of them when we host, so I can't wait to hear you share them!   From my view, Carly, Richard, Indy, Courtney, Christian, and Brad demonstrated significant time improvements.      Brittany had a crazy finish as she just kept pushing through.   Valerie FINISHED, which she was unable to do weeks ago.   On the boys side, Matt was able to continue to add strength through other training this season, without impacting his time...he ran the exact same timeas weeks ago.

For the other stuff -- FIRST --- SENIOR NIGHT WILL BE BEFORE THE FOOTBALL GAME vs. WILLIAMSPORT --   Courtney has recovered with her fight with the metal bench -- PRACTICE WILL BE TUESDAY NOV 1 from 4-5 pm and I love this team.

The thoughts and prayers of the Blazer XC team are with our alumni Scott Canfield, Ben Courter, and Dylan Wertz as they suffered losses of someone close to them over the past week.    This is our virtual hugs guys.   We heart you.

72 Hours - 2 Meets

10/9/2011

I've decided I need to carry around a small notepad and write down all the funny quotes that occur in our time together.
Although - I will never forget learning that Glendon swallowed a screwdriver when he was 3, and they had to knock him out to go in an retrieve it at the hospital.

I can't put into exact words how I felt about our meet at Smithsburg.   Overall, the performances were awesome, we are running our best...when it counts the most.  We are ready to peak, and do so when the championship meets are on the horizon.  Coach Milburn pointed out a few of you struggling at the mile mark and how hard you had to work to finish out the day.   I lost count of how many people met the goals on their goal cards -- because so many did.

New Home, New Month

So in the chaos of moving and my sudden trip to NYC,  I haven't had access to the internet, so this hasn't been updated often.  And now, I'm typing with taped together fingers to cover up the stitches.   So, needless to say, there are logical reasons I've slacked here recently, and I apoligize, and promise to be back on "course" now.

We've had an amzing two weeks since my last post,.   We headed to Boonsboro, twice, where were loved gliding over the non-hills there.    We went to Bull Run, where we tackled the dip, and lived to tell the story.  We're down the last half of the season.  This week takes us to Oakdale's course in Liberty Park, where we will go for their first ever Invitational.    Twenty years from now, you'll be able to say you attended the first!

Highlights of the last few meets:

Boonsboro- 09.14.11 -  Carly our #1 girl who ran 23:38,  Matt getting under 20:00 again

Bull Run - survival of us all, Mikaela who was spiked and trampled, Connor and Richard's beastly performances (they are like mountain goats!)

Keyser Invite - 10.01.11 - Holly's 6:58 improvement since 09.14 -- Morgan's 67 second improvement,  Courtney's time was 3:37 better, 3:56 faster,  Theresa 50 seconds faster, 1:54 faster, Matt peeled another 11 seconds off, Cam dropped another 43 seconds, Richard improved 24 seconds, Connor was 13 seconds faster,  Bradlee 28 seconds, and Christian was 47 seconds faster.    We race there again on Oct 21 -- I can't wait to see how low they go.

Yesterday's workout on the course was ah-mazing!   The team did a great job, and pulled off easily the best workout I've witnessed of the season.  Stay tuned friends, we race twice in the next 96 hours, and then not
