Tough week and a half for our team. Battling lots of "stuff". Let's continue to focus on the important stuff. We will support one another, cling to what is important, and focus on putting forth our best. Thanks team for always bringing a smile to my face.
A great day to run! Lots of goals met...and some even met 2nd goals. The girls stepped up as they were missing one while she nurses an injury. J Myers had a top performance. The boys team had another win by J Hill, as D Wertz shook up the Varsity roster yet again.
I loved laughing with the team on the way home!!! How does M Shelton sleep like that?? To sum up this first meet in three letters....WOW!
What a super day, started off by the girls team having TWO girls place in the top fifteen. It's been years since Clear Spring has kicked off a season with such success. Way to go Pettner and Shelton! For the first time since 1997, a Blazer athlete won the individual title. In his first season, J. Hill won the Boys Small race with a time of 16:55. Congrats Hill!! Other performances to note.... K Smith - beating her goal by 3:46!!!! M. Breakall -- a debut performance of 20:12. - a freshman with a bright future J Myers -- beat her goal time by 12 seconds B Yelott - beating his goal by 3:17 K Harris - ONE mile finished C Yost, C Herndon, B Mehaffie, D Wertz, C Ammons, C Clever -- finishing their FIRST XC race!! Next week -- Brunswick -- See What Happens Next! So we are as far away from our first meet as we are from the first practice. We are smack dab in the middle. The boys team has started bursting with numbers, dedication, and enthusiasm. I see the top girls working their tails off trying to lead this team to success. I can't wait to see what this season holds.
Girls, I ask....what are we trying to create this year? Boys, I ask...how do you want to be remembered? So, the season is off and running...
The girls side is excited to build on the endurance, strength, and friendships they already have...and It looks like only 3 returning boys from last year, with six new guys ready to put on the Blazer blue and Gold. So practice begins today...new faces to meet, many miles to run. What does this season hold.....
Three weeks, one day and our practices begin at Four Locks! Please make sure you have your physical completed by a doctor and have it ready to turn in on the first day!
Coach Mason is in need of some help as she prepares for the upcoming fall season. Please contact her if you are willing to answer some questions and help her out.
So...it's July 1st! A month into your summer training, six weeks until we have the chance to be together daily. Are you running? Are you hydrating? Don't find time to make excuses each day not to run, find time to to just get out and do it!
Clear Spring coaches, teachers, alumni, athletes, and parents were out in full force to support the Nick Adenhart 5K. A large WhoooHoo from me today as both the Men's and Women's winners were CSXC Alumni. Jennifer (Hartnett) Plevinski and Wade Miller continue to remind us that racing doesn't finish at graduation. Nick will always be a reminder to work hard and go after your dreams. Thanks, Nick. Your inspiration lives on.
